About the Position

Summary:   The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for delivering projects on time and on budget. Managing resources, schedules, scope and financials, the Sr. Project Manager will oversee multiple projects ensuring top quality deliverables while adhering to and expanding the use of SDLC and project management methodology throughout Hallmark. Oversight of change requests, projects risks/issues, facilitating steering meetings, and ensuring appropriate documentation and stakeholder communication are crucial responsibilities of this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Manage a portfolio of initiatives that span multiple lines of business and delivery areas
  • Develop project teams that span many disciplines (data, development, QA, business stakeholders, etc.) and ensure all members of project teams are in synch with a keen delivery of project delivery
  • Drive organizational change and adherence to a disciplined approach to project management including well defined and documented processes and best practices as well as establishing a core set of templates and project artifacts that will be used by other project managers to mature the capabilities of the organization
  • Participate in scope creation to ensure implementation not only achieves business objectives, but enhances operational workflow and supports underlying infrastructure and security requirements
  • Provide detailed status reporting regarding milestones, delivery, risks, issues, etc. and communicating these to all stakeholders including the C-suite
  • A core focus on continuous improvement, the Sr. Project Manager should think like a business person being mindful not only of project deliverables, but how those deliverables impact the larger organization
Core Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery complex projects in a complex environment on time and on budget
  • In depth knowledge of SDLC and development methodologies
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills including the ability to influence those without a direct reporting relationship across all levels of the organization
  • Experience with CBA and ROI studies and measurements of both post project delivery
  • Highly detailed with an uncanny ability to problem solve leveraging both creative and deeply analytical solutions
  • Experience implementing PMO level best practices and demonstrating how those best practices enhance project delivery
  • Outstanding communication ability to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, working independently or as part of a team providing advice and counsel to peers
  • Proficiency in managing projects with internal, external or a hybrid application development and QA processes leveraging vendor applications and/or resources
  • Expertise designing, implementing, modifying, (e.g. Six Sigma) processes and proven ability to influence behavior without having reporting authority
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in IT related field
  • Significant experience in commercial insurance with exposure to multiple distribution channels and the nuances they bring
  • 7+ years’ experience in project management discipline with increasing responsibilities
  • Advanced proficiency with JIRA, MS Project, MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SQL, etc.
  • ITIL and/or PMP certification preferred, Six Sigma certification a plus
